My heart goes out to all Lactnetters in the several US states with areas
devastated in last night's tornadoes.
Some of you will have your own damage and trauma to deal with, or that of
your loved ones and neighbours. Others will be doing what IBCLCs and other
lactation support workers do so well, even in the face of great difficulty
- finding ways of supporting a breastfeeding mother and baby, or many
dyads. Or working on policy issues and logistics in a crisis.
I've just realised that this widespread disaster is further complicated by
the existence of the current pandemic.
Stay safe, help whomever you can - and do try to get some sleep, both for
yourself and so that you can keep on with your work.
Warm regards,
Virginia
