I joined in 1999, 2 years into being an IBCLC and brand-new to my private
practice. I remember my own first post! That is because it was in response
to an IBCLC who lives very near me, and I was amazed that this group could
be both so international, and so local. I was so nervous hitting "send."
I didn't want to be pounced upon as an ignorant neophyte.

Memorable threads have involved clinical issues where we learn about and
discuss some of thouse outlier situations. I honestly can't think of any
situation described that has stumped Lactnet, though many have stumped ME.
That is the great value of the searchable Archives, as you note, Rachel.

I also appreciate the personal accountability that Lactnet demands: Don't
say it unless you would be willing to read about it on the front page of a
newspaper. There is no "deleting" or "editing" later on (as Facebook
permits).
