Dear Lactnet Friends:

I use craniosacral therapy as part of my lactation work. 2 cases come to
mind immediately when I read Laurie Wheeler's question.

1) The mother and I watched the as the overlapping skull bones released and
the expanded and the head became symmetrical with my hands on, and while
baby was nursing.

2) A baby that had been (ineffectively) treated for torticollis for 2
months with physical therapy had a complete released of that tension while
skin to skin on mom's chest, with my hands on the baby. The baby's head and
neck straightened into perfect alignment, and stayed that way;

These are the most dramatic ones; there are plenty of one that are more
subtle.

I've never worked on a baby without the mother present. I wouldn't want to
do so either, as they are one energetic unit, a dyad.

Haven't we all seen babies relax and feed better when we help the mother to
relax?

warmly.
