Knowing the paternalistic environment of many hospitals, and the trouble that nurses and LCs can get into when trying to effect change, I suggest:

Take advantage of the release of this new ABM statement, and also use Lactmed as valid, consensus-based and evidence-based  resources from physicians and pharmacists.
Ask to present to the next administration meeting, or peds/neo meeting, or pharmacy, whoever the key decision makers would be. Do not make this an urgent thing but go through channels.
Come at it from the point of many hospitals you are in touch with have a different policy which "allows" breastfeeding, and that mothers are aware of these resources and are asking questions. Also that marijuana use is legal in some states.
Offer the observation that with a prohibition to breastfeeding, many mothers might just continue to use or use more freely, rather than have the incentive and info to curb their drug use or quit.
One reason I am told is that since marijuana use is not a reason to remove the infant from the mother's care, we support the mother to breastfeed.
