Attended a conference yesterday presented by Dawn Kersula. It was great, I had a great time with colleagues and met some new ones from a neighboring, same corporate health system. I am excited about lactation again, 20 yrs after first certifying! Reflecting on the first lactation training I went to, the UCLA class given by Kittie Franz and Sandra (forgot last name) in 1994. I loved every hour of all of the 5 days and learned so much! But what really impressed me at the time was the teachers. How they were. Women in their 50s, accomplished, knowledgable, happy, giving. I am close to being like that now! So many of us humans are walking around with wounds and scars and bumps from life. We have an opportunity to leave a positive, joyful, loving mark on every mother and colleague we come in contact with. I'm ready! Susan in MNrn ibclc
