Just some thoughts...

Domperidone is a drug used on a daily basis for relief of common problems.
Galactorrhea is an adverse drug reaction NOT commonly encountered.
Therefore, maybe it does not elevate milk production on all breastfeeding
women precisely because they don´t all *suffer* the side effect... because
even if it rises prolactin in everyone, not everyone has galactorrea (that
is, milk excretion). Does this make sense?

On the other hand, there is a small study that suggests the prolactin
response to the domperidone and metoclopramide is most influenced by parity
(that is, number of babies the woman has had). So, giving the medication
to a woman with one baby might not get the same results as giving it to a
woman with three children...

Lots to ponder and study!!

Warmly from Madrid
Kika
