The current political climate is that someone at the FDA has another
vendetta against domperidone.

They are also notifying boards of pharmacy to warn compounding pharmacists to
stop compounding it.

It is spotty by state. Most of the pressure right now seems to be coming
from the Boards of Pharmacy.

This is trickling down to physicians who are not willing to even write
prescriptions anymore.

You can still obtain from Canada, but of course, you need a prescription.

Some women are getting from India, but it takes quite a while to have it
delivered.

There was meeting at the FDA several months ago to support its use for
gastroparesis.

The public was strongly in favor of domperidone.

A US drug company seems willing to pursue prescription status for that use.

I had to serve as a special expert for a NP who prescribed in Vermont and the
state tried to take her license away.

We were able to save her license, but she is now forbidden to prescribe it
anymore.

It is being prescribed and compounded in some states where the State Boards of
Pharmacy have not come down on domperidone.

Tom Hale had to revise his Orphan Drug Status to meet new FDA requests.

Finally, an editorial comment:

The federal government has chosen not to enforce the marijuana law in the
United States, which has resulted in the very dangerous to mothers and
breastfeeding babies to be on the market and freely consumed, yet domperidone,
which is beneficial to breastfeeding mothers and babies, is being
banned. Explain that one to me.

Oops; I know: the governments can make a lot of tax money off marijuana but not
domperidone.

In the meantime, you can try this website recommended by Consumer Lab:
