Where do you purchase? I don't see a US distribution site listed on the website.

Hi Amy,
I love these shields. They allow a baby who cannot form or sustain a
teat to get a lot of breast in their mouth. I teach moms to apply them
Linda Pohl's way, partially inverting the shield, pressing it against
the nipple area and stretching it over the breast. I use mainly this
size now, but sometimes find babies that are just too small to
accommodate it and must use smaller shields.

We have recently seen several mothers with very large nipples whose infants have had difficulty latching and we wondered about the effectiveness of this product. Can the average-sized term newborn's oral cavity accommodate this size of nipple shield or is it better to encourage mom to pump until the baby grows?

Subject: Slovak?
Is there anyone on the list who speaks/reads Slovak? I have a short study in Slovak that I need to understand a little more from beyond the 5-line English summary.
Thanks in advance,
Lisa Marasco

Subject: recommendations for when to use a pump and seeing inpatients
Greetings
I have been reading for years and only able to post on face book. Here goes another try
I recommend that moms leave that shiny new pump in the box for the first 2 weeks UNLESS THERE IS A PROBLEM. I encourage them to focus on getting to know their newborn, resting, and becoming comfortable with direct breastfeeding. Of course it should be used if any problems occur.
I work as part of a team of lactation consultants. We see every breastfeeding mom, every day Monday through Saturday. We take calls on Sunday. We are not here at night. Staff nurses are encouraged to make bedside decisions and do the bulk of teaching. We are an additional resource to our inpatients as well as our discharged patients.
