Can she use gel pads to ease the pain? Or perhaps an OTC antibiotic
ointment with lidocaine in it (not ok for baby to ingest, would have to
rinse off) for the breast lesions. The reason for the otc antibiotic is
that most wounds like that will quickly get secondary infection and heal
faster with the ointment.
If viral, probably has to run it's course; rest, good nutrition,
analgesics. May have to limit breastfeeding if too painful for her; perhaps
one side is feeling better and she can express the other and feed with a
cup?
