I have staff that are making patients panic if the infant feeds for short periods for 2 or more consecutive feedings. I have always thought that an infant won't stool if an infant is getting breastmilk and that we can relax if we see one stool in 24 hours and to on day 2. (I understand terminal mec is stress and doesn't have anything to do with feeding) but does stooling in the early days indicate milk transfer albeit it is small amounts of colostrum. I am in need of support for this or I need to stop telling families that I know their infant is doing well because of the stools.

Please help
Jen
