Maybe their theory is that they have to give more because it isn't as dense as colostrum or as good :-)
There isn't any reason that half could be poured into an empty bottle and saved in refrig for another feeding. But the best thing is to express colostrum into a teaspoon and feed it to baby. So many of them seem to wake up and say "oh that's what I'm supposed to be doing!"
if they won't suck at the breast, use a finger and get mom expressing. Use RPS, anything to move things along. Pat in SNJ
