I have been gathering information about various options. Here are some on my radar: 1. Accountable Care Organization (ACOs) authorized and created by the ACA. http://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Medicare-Fee-for-Service-Payment/sharedsavingsprogram/Downloads/ACO_Summary_Factsheet_ICN907404.pdf 2. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have revised the definition of preventive services to include unlicensed providers of care recommended by a physician or other licensed provider. Although appropriate lactation support is still not clearly defined, there may be reimbursement options here. http://www.medicaid.gov/federal-policy-guidance/downloads/CIB-11-27-2013-Prevention.pdf 3. Federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) - http://www.hrsa.gov/healthit/toolbox/RuralHealthITtoolbox/Introduction/qualified.html 4. There is a new grant option currently open: Reducing Disparities in Breastfeeding through Peer and Professional Lactation Support http://www.naccho.org/topics/HPDP/mcah/ All the best, Fay Bosman, IBCLC, RLC Mother Nurture, Vancouver, WA *********************************************** Archives: http://community.lsoft.com/archives/LACTNET.html To reach list owners: [log in to unmask] Mail all list management commands to: [log in to unmask] COMMANDS: 1.
