There is a strange and suspicious dialogue about the wisdom of exposing
young babies to peanuts in order to "prevent" allergies later on.
Suspicious because the original study was funded by the American Peanut
Board!!!!
But our media in Israel is giving information that because Israeli infants
are given Bamba, which is a popular peanut snack, these infants are
protected from peanut allergy later on.It was even published in
international allergy journals. Bamba melts in the mouth so it is often
offered to very young babies although it has no nutritional benefit
whatsoever.
But the bottom line is the effect of the original study which was funded by
an organization that had clear conflict of interest.
The next thing we shall hear is that formula companies are adding peanuts to
their products in order to "boost the immune system to peanuts."
