PTP. I had a mother call the other day with a question I could not answer. This was her 2nd baby, 15mo. Breastfed her 1st for 4 years. Over the last several months, the 15mo has been slowly declining to feed from one side, so now will laugh at mother when that side offered (Cheeky thing!). Mother decided to taste her milk and found it salty. She could not say which came first...the saltiness or the weaning. She Googled and found that weaning will lead to saly milk. I have more expereince with newborns and not this. She reports that that side has had some pain with breastfeeidng with both children. A mammogram inbetween children did not show any structural issues or lumps. 

I had alway heard that mastitis in a breast will lead to salty milk. This mother denied any signs/symptoms of mastitis.
