Hi,
I'm an RN, IBCLC in a hospital setting in Texas. I'm the first IBCLC at the hospital and I see patients on an inpatient basis and an outpatient basis. I'm wondering is there anyone that works in a hospital based setting but sees patient's on an outpatient basis, also? I've been working with our revenue department but we can not get a clear answer whether or not medicaid will cover lactation services. Does anyone know if medicaid will pay for outpatient services? And if they do what code do you use? I know every state varies, so if anyone from Texas knows anything, I would greatly appreciate any input.
Thank you,
Heather Hasara-Soape, RN-BSN, IBCLC
