I think the most important information in that statement is not so much the transcription rather that for copious milk production to begin, the placenta must first be removed.

Unless of course you are preparing a presentation on the genetics of milk production.  As far as transcription, I can not claim any great knowledge there, but through googling and asking my husband who does research in neuroscience, I have learned that it is the first step in protein biosynthesis involving the copying of DNA to mRNA.
