I think both ideas have merit--calming baby with a little milk prior to latch, and/or getting milk to point of letdown prior to latch. And Im thinking that, because typically a woman's milk production higher in early am and lower in eve--maybe an overall boost to production is in order--say, power pumping, galactogogues --to have plenty to satisfy 24/7
