>> Hi Wise ones,If a baby is neurologically impaired (injured at birth), mum is feeding him only at breast, his weight gain is good (more than 8oz per week) and he is struggling to stay attached (mum is working hard with him) is it reasonable to think that a visible frenulum even though it is long could be part of the problem? He has a sucking blister but his palate felt nice and flattish. Its his palate is throwing me off and the length of the frenulum - over 1cm. I forgot to press on the frenulum to see if that did anything. His tongue didn't seem to extend much. Many thanks,Sarah McCann BScHons, IBCLC, LLL Leader.
