I would also be really concerned about such a sudden change in feeding patterns for that baby. The amount stated equals about 21 to 28 ounces per day which is nearly 100% of average daily intake of a formula fed baby. If this baby's weight gain is less than average, I'm wondering if the baby has been getting any breastmilk at all? Did she ever have any engorgement? When she pumps, how much does she get? I would be really worried about her stopping supplements immediately. I would recommend calling her and ask her lots of specific questions about the baby's urine and stooling and have the baby weighed more frequently.
