Hi Rachel,
Something similar happened to one of my twins. The caries were like a runaway freight train. We were even applying chlorhexidine (used after oral surgery and for gum disease) by Q-tips to her teeth as my husband is a dentist and had access. Her twin brother had no caries with same day and night breastfeeding and food, though she ate slower. He did have pneumonia around the same time and she didn't. She did had lip and tongue tie though both corrected before any teeth erupted. We had a pediatric dentist fix what she wouldn't let her dad take care of that needed anesthesia. She is almost 15 years and has had virtually no problems since then. That's the good news. Still something I puzzle over.
