Dear Lactnet Friends:
Thank you for the links to these videos.
I have a few questions. How is showing a baby breastfeeding by sliding up
and down the nipple shield helpful to the mother? I thought that baby had
to have a nice wide mouth at breast. Is this sliding common to some
premature infants?
Wouldn't it be more physiologic for the mother of a 40-weeker to be asked,
"Is your baby ready to breastfeed now" instead of "Are you ready to feed
her now?"
Curious.
