Your friend's options are
* making a further call to her midwife to ask for a home visit (the
midwifery service in the UK is used by all new mothers and most
midwives will continue to make home visits when needed) - she should
stress her need and the mental health aspect
* seeking out a local breastfeeding support group (her midwife will
know where these are)
* calling one of the volunteer helplines - there are 5 national
helplines. The one run by my own organisation is NCT's helpline 0300
330 0700
IBCLCs exist in the the UK of course; some work as HCPs in the
health service, some work with the volunteer orgs. A few are in
private practice.
