We are doing switch nursing and compression. She had not taken the baby into peds during this time because last time she saw peds the baby got sick, which she thinks happened at the office, with a virus and was admitted to the hospital, so was reluctant to return for fear he would catch something else. Obviously, I made sure she saw the doctor the next day. Yes the baby does look underfeed, but surprisingly transferred 4.9 ounces at our visit. Thus wanted the pre and post feed weighs and total intake to see if it was a production/ transfer issue to give peds more information, so that a complete medical evaluation could be done. just wondering if I'm unaware of an issue with "milk quality" as peds suggested due to maternal anemia.
