I have been very fortunate to have worked in 3 hospitals as RN IBCLC (3 diferent states) and never was asked or expected to staff nurse duties, only my LC job.

Hospitals are concerned with cost-effectiveness, liability and  flexibility 
as well as excellent patient care.  RN/IBCLCs are utility  players and may
