I've kept the typo in the subject line to keep this post with the first one
:-) I'm not sure 'disabled' is the word for her, she sounds pretty able to
me!
An armless, legless woman in the Netherlands who has gotten pregnant should
have 24/7 access to personal care assistance, right? Whoever helps her with
her activities of daily living will be the ones to involve in planning how
breastfeeding is to be accomplished. My hunch is that laid back positions
will be of most use, and that she will have additional challenges for
positioning and maneuvering when she is out and about, on top of the ones
she has been coping with before.
In Norway we'd involve an occupational therapist (ergoterapeut) to help
navigate the jungle of technical aids out there, to find what might suit
this mother best.
If she is open to sharing her story once it has happened, I'm sure it would
be useful to others. Good luck and please keep us posted if possible.
