Hi, Rachel-
I wonder if the moms with over-supply and deep burning breast pain are experienceing vasospasm?
I know I am a broken record about it, but I see so much of it. Often babies learn to pinch down (or insist on shallow latch) to slow down the flow. Sometimes temporary use of a nipple shield helps in these situations, along with a heating pad on "low" over the clothes for at least 5 minutes after feedings and as needed in between. You do not have to actually SEE any vasospasm with the naked eye. If the heat helps the pain, use it!
