Once I found LLL I realized how backwards the hospital conditions were and set out to try and change things, became a Leader, taught natural childbirth classes, started collecting research, became an RN, then APN. Those were the days, right? It is so sad today. One of my local hospitals (USA) has a 49 % c-sec rate. New Jersey leads the nation with c-sec rate :-( and all these sections only mean more sections in the future as hardly any one does VBAC. Mothers are all brain washed. I go around today saying we need a second childbirth revolution! Baby Friendly has helped in some places in the world, but Mother Friendly needs to happen in the US. I go to meetings, conferences, listen to webinars, but we are always preaching to the choir. Some days I'm very tired :-( Pat in SNJ
