Calves do not survive with out getting colostrum. They subsequently can be fed cow's milk in a bottle, but must get colostrum first - no imitations, period. Yes, humans seem to be able to adapt, however what long term health implications are there if human babies don't get colostrum. I'm always glad to hear that a human baby at least got colostrum and then mature milk, even if it is only for a few days or weeks, at least baby got the best beginning possible.. Pat in SNJ
