I am concerned about a trend for parents using cell phones near infants for
white noise or music. I had a mom in my support group put her cell phone
next to her 3 mos baby while it played white noise. I addressed the
negative effects of this and other group moms concurred this was dangerous for
infants developing brains.

Now I received an email from a specific group announcing info for parents
available on their cell phones with an app for white noise and which also
includes other apps from a well known pediatrician. Has anyone else
received this email and had experience with this cell phone use? I realize this
isn't directly breastfeeding related however, in seeing babies for lactation
issues, often more than breastfeeding comes up. I think this has bearing
on safe sleep and could indirectly involve breastfeeding since baby may
only need to nursed to sleep.

Would appreciate any specific references or articles addressing cell phone
use around babies. Thank you.
