Hello-
I have a client who has very painful red nipples. Her doctor had started
her on diflucan and topical clotramizole/betamethasone four days before we
met. Mother had seen no relief; in fact pain had gotten worse.
I suggested cause could be bacterial, in part because of lack of response
to diflucan and part because it looked red not pink/fuschia. Mother was
unconvinced. Course of diflucan is now complete; mother reports pain and
redness worse than ever. Doctor feels that bacteria only presents as
inflammatory mastitis and is unwilling to consider treatment for bacteria
without research.
Any research I can share with this doctor? She seems open to learning
something new, but only if I can provide documentation.
Thanks, Molly
