"After selling bras for 32 years and nursing bras all that time, my take on
self-serve or mail order for nursing bras is TROUBLE. It doesn’t have to
be an overproducing breast, either. Regardless of soft cup or wire, women
don’t know when they need a deeper cup, not just a larger around cup.
Breast growth in pregnancy usually means more pendulous and deeper
breasts. Squishing such deeper breasts into a shallow bra cup would make
the ducts take a curve rather than be straight (as when naked).
Actually have had a couple of mothers with chronic breast issues say that
after a professional nursing bra fitting, they no longer developed plugged
ducts or mastitis."
