ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
We had an incident earlier this spring where a visitor who was playing
tug of war on our horizontal pulley fell backwards and re-injured her
tail bone (that had been injured before). The knot of the rope had come
undone causing her to fall. Our liability insurance has covered her
medical bills, but she has hired an attorney and is suing our
organization for non-economic losses for an amount of over $300,000.
Does anyone know of anything that would be helpful to us as work through
this? Would "inherent risks" play into this scenario?
Appreciatively,
Annette
