Hi Dr Gordina,
No I didn't mean that we would *only* have volunteer mother to mother
support for bf moms to turn to. I am a hospital-based lactation consultant
and feel I have a valuable role in the health care system. I was just
saying that somehow there is a need for a resurgence of that mother to
mother support system, and *perhaps* there is a way to establish a pathway
from mother to mother *to* LC paid employment. That is, only for the women
who do want to merge into that paid role, and to *perhaps* have IBLCE
facilitate a more easy passage from one role to the other. I mention that
idea as an incentive for more women to spend time in the volunteer role,
knowing there will be a (literal) payoff in their future.
