Pat Young...I am in your position, going backwards, I believe! I have also been an RN for a long while. I am ANCC Pediatric Certified and now, in my later years, have been working strictly as an IBCLC in the hospital setting. The hospital I am working in, is now looking at having all IBCLCs Labor and Delivery trained, just for the purpose of being able to pull them for census. I am not L&D trained, so I will most likely be phased out in the next year. Very unfortunate after having worked very hard in the last several years towards Baby Friendly. I would love to participate in a survey that included the non L&D RN IBCLC, as well as non RN IBCLCs. Great idea and message me if you really want to do a survey and I can help!!
