Dear ladies,
I have a Lady who had her second baby at 35 weeks. She fully breastfed her first, with no Problems. At first milk supply was fine and mum was able to pump and directly bresatfeed. However, she was told she was not producing 'enough' for her Baby and the nursing staff insisted that she had formula from a bottle as this was the 'easiest'. Baby is now around a month and mum is having great Problems getting the Baby to take the breast. Her milk supply is dwindling as she is becoming more and more stressed about her not taking the breast.... A vicious circle! She is pumping to try to Keep her supply. Baby takes well from the bottle, but gets frustrated at the breast. I have suggested: Hand expressing or pumping to get MER before putting Baby to the breast, increasing pumping, and I will suggest galatogogues, although her doctor is not very supportive.
Do you have any other suggestions... This Lady is desparate to breastfeed....
Thanks for your urgent Support.
