At the recent ILCA conference the idea of emeritus status for those of us who are older and have been IBCLCs for a LLOOONNNGGG time was brought up.
The idea is if you have passed the "entry level" exam 3 times and are over 65 you would receive emeritus status and maintain your certification by taking CERPs only and at a reduced coast.
If you agree, please go to the IBLCE site, use their contact form and tell them your story and why this would help you stay in the profession :-)
Pat in SNJ - who will be 75 next year when I take the exam for the 4th time!
