O great wise ones in lactation land. I work for a hospital NICU who has been solicited by a company called Medolac regarding the purchase of human milk for our preemies. WE are currently using an HMBNA milk bank. Has anyone heard of this company? The milk they are shipping is processed in such a way as to not require refrigeration or freezing. Does anyone know if this process has been vetted as being first of all, safe, and second of all, effective for babies? I have never heard of such with human milk, although I know that cow's milk can be gamma irradiated to render it storable without refrigeration. Please advise if you know anything.
