Ask the provider why he thinks mother should not be able to provide infant with breastmilk? I could understand if they wanted to keep infant separated from family to prevent transmission but breastmilk could as least be provided. The virus is transported via fecal matter or emesis. So if mother washes her hands properly before pumping and all pump equipment is handled with clean hands then it shouldn't transfer the virus. 
And then remind provider that breastmilk passes antibodies to baby against whatever x illness that mother has. So really it would be beneficial is mother could give breastmilk to the entire family :)

I am going to continue to look through the CDC website for something specific on norovirus and breastfeeding. I would recommend calling the CDC although with the government shutdown you may not get ahold of anyone.
