"Premature milk" sounds suspiciously like galactorrhea, which is frequently associated with Hyperprolactinemia. The usual presentation is more likely to be bilateral.  The greenish color of a discharge may be related to allergies.  If she was not pregnant, I would recommend a prolactin test.  Did she happen to mention if she had regular cycles during this time?



I cannot think of any reason why this mother should be afraid to breastfeed. Does she still see green?  It will probably be diluted out when the milk comes in. If the culture came back as simply milk, nothing else of concern, she should not be concerned.
