Dear Lactnet Friends:

Aren't estrogen levels very very low in a nursing mom, until the baby
starts eating enough food to have an impact on hormonal levels?

I love the comment "how do breastfeeding mothers heal after cesarean
sections?"

"I received a call from a client whose baby is now 10 months old. the
mother is
having abdominal separation surgery and a tummy tuck this July and the
doctor, a
gynecologist from a world renown hospital is telling her she must wean 1-2
months before the surgery because otherwise the estrogen levels will slow
the
healing and cause maybe other problems."

Another case of sacrificing breastfeeding on the altar of ignorance?

warmly,
