I've been working with a mom who has had coagulated milk when she pumps (from time to time). I suspect a subclinical mastitis, coagulase + staph, which primary care doesn't agrtee with.
Anyway, mother's theory is that baby has a super strong suction, which causes damage to the inside of the breast, creating blisters that then break. Not really what I think is going on, but I agreed to run it by my area experts and see what they think. Please still respond; this is kind of like the weight check that I don't really think is needed but puts mom's mind at ease.
