Nan,
I used to borrow my daughter's Elmo doll and use that. It always gave mom a laugh, and because Elmo has a wide mouth, it helped me explain about a breast "sandwich" because that was the most difficult thing for a new mom to grasp. (It was amazing how many would try to offer the breast on end instead)

I am looking for some ideas for the "must-haves" that I need to request. The budget is very limited until we can get things reimbursement and insurance worked out, but they have been very generous with me and I don't want to push it. Can you guys please recommend your list of essentials that the clinic simply must have on hand? Here is what I have so far: accurate scale(the one they have only measures to 10 grams- I am going to push for a more precise one), breast models and diagrams, educational materials such as DVDs and books, nipple shields, cups, syringes, and feeding tubes for demonstrating alternate feeding methods. Anything I'm missing?
