Yes, Pat Gima still reads Lactnet discussions.
The topic of delayed MER interests me because of my years of success
with Rescue Remedy in initiating MER. Using 4-5 drops (or the amount
that is in a squeezed dropper ) directly under the tongue does help
in initiating an MER. And what helped my clients even more reliably
was putting it in water throughout the day, plus the direct dose
before feeding. Tension can accumulate as a day goes on. Jan's Mom
says that there is no stress at this time of the day, which I find
surprising in a Mom with a six-month-old and an older child. Your
client may be a "mellow" kind of person who doesn't register
tension's building up.
I had a client who had a 4-year-old, a 2-year-old, then had
twins! At my first visit I suggested that she put Rescue Remedy in
her appropriate amount of water throughout the day and always in the
large glass of water she kept beside her nursing station. She said
that it helped with feedings and her stress. One morning her husband
called me at 6:30AM and asked where he could get that "Rescue
stuff." He said that she ran out of it, and that she was "mean" to
everybody. I took her a bottle and he left a message of thanks a
couple of days later. (I carried it in my supplies.)
Jan, your client nursed exclusively till just recently. Could
introducing solids be part of the puzzle here? Does she offer the
solids at dinner time? There can be an emotional shift with the
introduction of solid foods, as it is the beginning of weaning. Just
a thought. Rescue Remedy can help with this adjustment too.
Rescue Remedy has a calming effect for anyone in any circumstance
when inner calm is needed.
I still use it regularly myself...before public speaking, attending a
potentially stressful meeting, driving in snow, having my blood
pressure measured in the doctor's office, or tending all three of my
grandchildren, whose water pitcher has been "laced" before they come.
It can help with a sleepless night--such as this one. Note the time sent!
I deeply appreciate all that you dedicated women are doing to help in
healing our world--one baby at a time. I also appreciate what
Lactnet has done, and is still doing in connecting and supporting all of you.
