At our hospital peds or F.P. do the circs. Moms are often feeding right up until the time they wheel the baby away. I'm not sure I have ever read of babies aspirating during a circ.
We are not baby friendly.

Subject: Hospital Circumcision Policies
Hello~ I am hoping some of you working in the hospitals can share with me your institution's circumcision policies. I have been banging my head against the wall regarding our infants being held NPO (nothing by mouth) 1 hour prior to the procedure with no regard to breast or formula feeding. It is the assumption by the Obstetricians, who do the procedure, that the babies are at risk for choking and that is why this practice exists. If you can let me know if your facility is baby friendly or not when you comment I'd also appreciate it. Thank you kindly!
