Mother's comfort while feeding is one of the first things I look at, starting with her back. I use a small, narrow cushion for lumbar support for the mother, or else a rolled towel with a rubber band or tape around it to keep it from unrolling. A mother's back needs to be supported and supported while sitting feeding as she's going to be doing a lot of that.

If a rolled towel is used, the mother's individual needs can be adjusted by choice of the size and thickness of the towel for lumbar support. I also occasionally use a rolled towel or hand towel for elbow or wrist support if a particular mother needs it. Mostly they don't, especially if they are using their bodies to support their babies.

Or you could just teach moms to slouch a little in their chairs and
support the baby on their bodies!
