It always seemed strange to me that we are considering this a medicine,
but we give out hand lotion to mothers who request it? And we don't need to
keep hand lotion in the pyxis. I didn't think there was any actual medicine
in lanolin cream, it's more like chapstick right?
~~~ An interesting question/point. In addition to Pat's point about
tracking, I do think Lansinoh is very different than hand lotion( or chapstick.)
Hand lotion is for dry skin, Lansinoh, if it's being used correctly, is for
wounded, broken skin. I know moms use it, and the manufacturer may even
suggest  using it as a "moisturizer" or "soother"  but it's a wound care
product by  design. It is not a cream or lotion, but a moist wound healing
product. As  a wound care therapist, I would not put lotion or chapstick on a real
wound, but  we still keep Lansinoh in our house and my adult children know
to ask where that  little purple tube is, when they get cut/wounded.
Hope that helps,
Judy
