Along that thread.......did others watch "Call the Midwife" last night? It was a very similar theme at the beginning of the 1960's, when the midwives wanted to introduce the idea of helping mothers have the births they wanted. Someone else on the list, I'm sure, remembers the name of the pioneering dr who advocated for women having a voice in childbirth then?
I love that show!!!

I can. Childbirth. We've ALWAYS done it that way. Shaving, enemas, episiotomy... How many decades did it take for fathers to be ALLOWED in the delivery rooms to support their wives?
