In my reading of the joint commission website, I think it is pretty clear that it is the mother's choice at admission that counts....not if she changes her mind later. If she chooses to supplement, she still is counted and lowers the exclusive rate. We have just started counting so it is good to hear from you, Denise, that the counting is making a difference!
I'm hoping ILCA or USLCA will soon have a webinar with tips for doing this....
