Have a postpartum client who was told by her OB
to use Nystatin for candida.
She has fairly deep fissures on the face of both
nipples that are NOT painful to the touch or pumping.
Baby most likely has a Type 3 TT.
Family is going for an evaluation on Wednesday. The
plan is for me to help her with bfeeding (dyad is no longer)
after procedure. Mom is TERRIBLY concerned with
the pain bfeeding may cause.
She’s texting me, telling me, she can’t use the Nystatin because
it “stings terribly !”
I’ve never heard any mom complain before.
MY QUESTION:
—why might this happen ?
—is there a suitable substitute ?
