I had a massage yesterday, and noticed that the masseuse had a collection
of pool noodles. I asked her what for, and she explained that she saw a
lot of people whose shoulders kind of curled forward, and their pectoral
muscles needed to be stretched back out. Sound familiar? What she does is
cut a noodle to run from the base of the neck down to the lower back, and
then has people lie on the floor with the noodle under their spines. It's
soft, so it doesn't hurt against the vertabrae, but body weight gently
forces the shoulders to drop backwards and stretch out the pectorals. She
pointed out that a mom could do it while a baby slept on her chest.
